Greetings Friends:

I've come to a point in life where it makes the most sense . . . and sanity, to streamline my collection of several dozen, mostly 1910's through 1950's, mostly Hoover and Kirby uprights, to a select line-up of six to eight. A wide variety of rare replacement parts is also available.

To that end, I would be happy to welcome to my home, fellow vacuumistos and vacuumistas living in, visiting or passing through the Saint Louis, Missouri area who would be interested in adding to their collections by purchasing items from mine.

Prices will be fair for both buyer AND seller. Pick-up only, please and "Cash On The Barrelhead" as they used to say. I.E. PayPal, cash or money order, only.

I may be contacted directly by email at: marukap@sbcglobal.net

Sincerely,

Marty Kaplan

Marty, those are some really nice uprights you have there - especially the coffee can Hoover's. I only wish I could buy some off you, but I am focusing mainly on canisters now as that's what works for me in my living space. Plus I am in the same boat as you....I may have to downsize my collection in the next 5-10 years. Good luck with the sale.

Apologies for not responding sooner: I am asking $300 for the Dual-80 and $500 for the Tradition, plus $40 each for time and supplies for packaging plus actual shipping costs.

$500 USD for a Kirby Tradition, plus $40, plus shipping?
Are they hard to find in The States?

We have them commonly available for between £15 GBP and £35 GBP. Although the cloth bag will be faded due to their lack of colour-fastness.

Kirby 80

I am kinda interested in the Kirby Dual-80. Would you be able to describe what attachments it all has and/or is missing?

Kirbys!

Hi Ruby461. I'm afraid the Dual-80 has been sold. Thanks for your interest nevertheless and I apologize for the delay in my response.

Rowdy141. The Kirby Tradition is in original, un-restored, like-new condition. Hence the price tag. The only flaw is that the little, plastic cord-retaining hook half-way up the back of the handle has (OF COURSE) snapped off. Otherwise it is beautiful, with an extensive set of accessories (attachments in blue plastic carrying case, power polisher, carpet shampooer, handi-butler with flexible shaft, standard tool kit AND jig saw). The only attachment it lacks is the correct, blue, clip-on "shag king" rug rake. I've never even seen one in real life or, for that matter on eBay. I think by the time the Tradition was in production, shag rugs were, mercifully pretty much out of vogue.

Cheers . . . as you folks say,

Marty

Nor do I have the floor wax applicator for the Tradition.
