I love my Hoover model 62. I know it has a replacement bag, which is genuine. I don’t care.

Yes, the attachments were in fact brown. Not blue. That wouldn’t come until the next model, 63.

Now that is a clean rug. For a moment. Mr. Zakk approves.

The business card from the man who sold my model 62. It came from right here in St. Louis. I love the image on the card. Number one it’s in blue, that matches the upright. Second the image is of a goddess giving the gift of the Hoover cleaner to the housewife so she can abandon the broom forever. If I didn’t already have enough tattoos, you better believe that would be one.

Decided to test the machine with salt. This is what the beating affect of a 72 year old vacuum has on a carpet. And some people think I don’t love Hoovers.

When they brought out the next model, the disposable bags were throwaway bags and not reusable as they were on the model 62. In fact, they were thick pink paper.

They came in their own open ended lunch bag. Four to a package.

I've always admired the style and color combination of this model, but never knew what model it is.
Thank you for the education! I think I've seen a toy vacuum based on this style.
Did the Convertible immediately follow these? You can definitely see Convertible in it.
Beautiful!

Barry

The model 63 followed the 62. Both were in blue, but the 63's base was a blue/grey. It also used a disposable throw-away bag type C like Convertibles use. The 62's paper bag was meant to be emptied from the top and reused any number of times. The 63 also had blue attachments. Next was the Model 64 "Citation" which was a color change. The Model 65 was the first Convertible (in lovely Pink and White). This is a pic of my 65 along with a Mobile-Maid with bow-tie impeller.

Tom

I have that machine with the same replacement outer bag. Didn't know it was genuine. I figured someone made it custom.
