I picked up a TriStar CS powerhead and hose and would like to test it, but I do not have a TriStar canister. Are there other canister brands that would accept a Tristar hose (2 pin)?

Well we used to have a cord ending in two alligator clips for purposes like that. It's an ac motor so it won't hurt it. Just be careful. connect the clips to the pins while the cord is still discoonnected and make sure they're not touching each other. Plug the cord into a surge protector with a breaker in it and you'd be able to run it direct or run it through the hose.

Thank you. That was my first idea, but thought I'd see if there was a more conventional method (compatible model).

Cheers
