I just like posting really rare vacs and awhile ago I came across this video on YouTube of this BRIGHT red Eureka Self Propelled. Haven't seen it discussed much on the forums though. A much different color variant from the standard Eureka Precisions of the time. Old Eurekas with the pancake motor are great. Anyone have this really cool Eureka?

The whole precision line had those boxes, and its mroe or less a similar design to the Hoover Concepts. The bulk of these SP models is usually the SP mechanism itself in the base.

I saw one at an estate sale a couple of years ago. Probably should’ve bought it.

Extra bags can be stored in that space.

I found one of these a few years ago at a thrift store - the transmission is out but it was too flawless to pass up!

All Eureka Precision uprights were self-propelled. At some point, when Eureka introduced the Bravo II (Elite clones), the company transferred the name “Precision” to one of these dusty rose Bravo Twos. I guess they re-labelled the old Precision to just call this new red version: the Eureka Self-Propelled. Must be the very last traditional “fan-first/fan-down” upright labelled Eureka - not Sanitaire.

The plastic box holds the cord-winder and has a slot in the back for extra bag storage. It also has Eureka’s first “up top” upright carry handle. In the deluxe Precision, it had an electronic motor speed control slider above the handle.
