Hi everyone, I'm wondering if anyone knows if Central Vacuum Stores is no more? This was a major on line retaylor of central vacuums and portable vacuums as well and they were based in Florida but the web site is no longer available. This was a pretty large on line web site for vacuums, accessories, and hoses. If they have closed it would definitely be kind of sad, I've bought several items from them in the past.

Just looked online and it says that they're permanently closed. At least thinkvacuums.com is still around for now, but they could be next.

that's really sad

That is a shame, they were a great company to buy from, I wonder if the stores in Florida still exist or if they are gone too? I've also bought from Think Vacuums and think they are good to do business with. Central vacuum stores was also a Miele dealer, I think Think Vacuums is the only on line site left that has a large variety of central and portable vacuums. E Vacuum Store is also still around, central vacuum stores will definitely be missed.

Well it's honestly not surprising because, more people would rather buy a vacuum from Amazon or a department store than go over to a independent dealer. Especially when it comes to central vacs. In fact, I have a relative who bought a Allegro from online instead of buying a SilentMaster from a dealer because it was cheaper. I honestly would've done the same thing. I mean why would I pay for a DrainVac at a dealer where I could get a OVO 700 AW for WAY less?

@panasonicvac OVO is atrocious quality. So there's the reason you wouldn't buy one.

I have to respectively disagree, at least for the power units because I'll admit that they do sell some cheap accessories. I had an opportunity to see the 700 AW unit up close and I was really impressed by the quality they'd offered. Actually it was more solid than the DrainVac Little Giant that I have. I'm really glad that I only paid very little for the Little Giant because I do not think the DrainVac is worth for what they are today. And I really like Nadair (The parent company of OVO), never had a problem with their service. The only thing that I didn't really cared about the OVO was the thru-flow motor, but it's the same motor that the MD Flo-Master F700t uses. I still wouldn't personally pay more for the MD than I could pay less for the OVO. That's just me.

Drainvac quality

Interesting that you don't think the Drainvac Little Giant is good quality, I have several Drainvac units, the Powerhouse, the Viper, the Turbo, the Twin Turbo which is the one I brought to the vacuum convention, and the little Atomik. Excellent quality on all of them.

Mike, DrainVac's bodies are made out of plastic all the way around except for the Fusion as far as I'm aware of. I personally don't like that. They can get brittle over the years, not something I'd want to have. In fact I'll be getting a house here real soon whether it would be new or pre owned and I will be having a central vac put in unless if it would already have one, I've already ruled out DrainVac.
