A forgotten DD/Royal vacuum also means it's not on Youtube. Name some examples.

Dirt Devil Platinum Force, in my opinion the best portable carpet cleaner for a reasonable price.

Dirt Devil central vacs. One of the best systems on the market in my opinion.

The DD i was also sold as a Vax. I remember when Best Buy sold those machines. Very odd given that Vax is from England.

My home builder installed a Dirt Devil Pro Series 990 central vac when my house was built about ten years ago. It was very powerful but despite frequent filter cleanings/changes, the motor burnt out within 3 years. We ended up replacing it with a bagged MD unit like my parents have had forever and it's still quietly going strong. I will only use MD from here on out.

I've used the purple Vax X5 version of the Dirt Devil before, the filters clogged almost instantly cause there's no cyclone in the dust bin. I like the Dirt Devil more cause it has one to prevent the clogging.

Dirt Devil Plus Model 523, which was the first Dirt Devil hand vacuum with a two-speed motor; it was also marketed as the Dirt Devil Pro Series Model 533 (in blue) for authorized Royal dealerships. (Sold in the years 1986-1991.)

Also: the Dirt Devil Deluxe Model 501D, essentially the all-metal Royal Prince hand vacuum with Dirt Devil branding. It was said this special model was made from leftover 501 parts that were destined for the scrap heap. (Sold in the years 1991-1993.)

Another Dirt Devil that is actually one of the more rare and forgotten models would be the metal commercial upright.

The first Vison Canister (M082600) seems pretty rare nowadays. Can't find any videos on YouTube, and I haven't seen one of these pop up on eBay in at least a decade.

Forgotten, or unknown?

The Dirt Devil Green Machine! An early nickname dealers would use to advertise the forest green Pro Series Upright Plus. Or maybe the Anniversary Upright Deluxe? Walmart special? 501D? Manufacturer Special? Classic (teal upright)? Emerald Collection!

I have one but not this model, one of the older ones. At some point they made it fancy then called it the "BRUM" as below. Both the original and the newer are pretty much forgotten.

The Dirt Devil Dust Devil is probably the rarest Dirt Devil in my opinion. The only evidence of its existence is from a commercial from 1995. It was meant to compete with the Dustbuster hand vacs. Most of them have been thrown out due to the batteries aging, like all early cordless vacuums.

That Dust Devil looks suspiciously like a Black & Decker Dustbuster mold. I swear I had one long ago. I remember the nozzle that stored away in the tip.

The batteries are NiCad and do not like being stored unmaintained for years. Check for a Batteries Plus+ store in your area, they can rebuild the pack. If you are experienced with soldering and electronics repair you can rebuild the pack yourself with new cells. All my old Dustbusters are shot too.

I'm not sure who came first but that vacuum eventually became the Euro-Pro X The Shark.

Some more products.

powerstarenergy's profile picture
Some more products.
1. Some of them are pool cleaners, but as long as it still has the dirt devil logo.

2. Did Euro-Pro make products for Royal/TTI?

3. The Scrub Devil is still purchasable on Amazon, so that's also interesting.

4. Dirt Devil also made some outdoor products, including a Leaf Blower and Power Washer.

Bonus: I found out that the Dirt Devil Gator is still made in Germany.
