Since I can't be too sure exactly WHAT it is, I'm gonna call it the Amalgam for simplicity.

Once as the basic restoration is complete, I have a few extra non-urgent plans to act on for making it "correct-looking" rather than simply focusing on whether it works or not.

These would be obtaining a proper D80 floodlight hood (or headlight cap, I'm just going off of the manual's name for it.) and recycling the existing blue trim from my unit, just to get rid of that pesky D50 emblem and as a means of affirming its status as a D80, if that makes me sound insane so be it, I'm already quite insane methinks.

Another would be swapping out parts to make a model coloration never seen in a legitimate Kirby, it WOULD give me bragging rights over a separate fanbase to have a Kirby of that specific coloration (points at my avatar maliciously.) HOWEVER I can say that the TBLT rabies has NO say in me doing this (that's a lie.)

BUT I PROBABLY WON'T because I care about it too much to get into something that complex, especially because of its age and of its 'frailty', I don't feel like becoming the next St. Peters again :1c

.

More unrealistically, retrimming the whole thing and fully restoring it to D80 status, if I had the money to throw away, I would, but I barely have enough for the current replacement parts as is.

ALSO for any of you concerned that I might be 'ruining' my machines by customizing them, I do plan on getting a proper D80 in the future, not to replace it, but to sit there and look pretty while the Amalgam does all the real work.
