I can’t believe I night another canister vacuum! I’m more of an upright fan…truly, yet I own
-2 Rainbows -2 Royal Powerteams -1 Electrolux G series -2 Filter Queens -1 Mighty Mite -1 Miele. ( problematic) Well, after not buying a vacuum in about 2 years other than My special find suedo dream vac….I ran into an oddity at a garage sale. Checked it out. Talked them down to buy a superb condition Patriot Hybrid (P3) six wheeled machine for 1/100th it’s new price with all the attachments and couple of bags . The wife wasn’t pleased. Haha. Smelled of dog so cleaned it all out and new bag…no more smell. I haven detailed it like I normally do with my purchase surprisingly ( to remove colored scratches on plastic ). I guess I just wanted to try it out ( since it was so cheap and in superb condition . I wouldn’t dream of ever paying DtD prices for vaccums though. Grooms really well. Bought some Hepa h10 cloth bags already but I should I have waited longer using the supplied Stormy Bags to solidify if I was gonna keep it or not for long Opinions on these copy-cat vac from you guys? | ||

I have the same vac but perhaps a year or 2 newer based on the colour differences. I got mine in 2020. It works great, has terrific suction.

The ET-1 is well proven design. I think it’s well over 40 years old now but I’m sure improvements have been made. | ||

good but overpriced The patriot is a good vacuum, but, as with all vacuums sold door to door, it's overpriced. Sounds like you got a good deal on this one though. The Sebo power nozzle is one of the best, if not the best available. Mike | ||

The Patriot is a great TriStar clone, cleans well with great suction. However, the current model uses a non repairable single stage Ametek Advantek motor, and previous models used a Ametek double stage motor that had as much suction as a TriStar, but a shorter lifespan than the Ametek 116311 used in the TriStar CXL. In addition, it's very easy to crack the plastic body around the metal grommets in the body that hold the screws in place, don't take it apart unless absolutely necessary.
As far as using the vacuum as a daily driver, changing the open top bag is a bit messy if you use the open top bag since the bag is on a slight angle. If you're using the OEM Patriot bags, go for the closed top bag. If you use open top bags though, tip the vacuum back before opening the bag door so it's not all at the front of the bag to spill out. I converted mine to use Kenmore Q and Miele GN HEPA Cloth bags mounted right on the bag door and a cardboard rim to make the seal. Also, the Medik Aire HEPA Filter is big and you get lots of filter material, but obscenely priced. I converted mine with a extension wand from a Bissell PowerForce to use a Electrolux Guardian HEPA Filter. The tools provided are just average central vac tools, the floor brush in particular is also OEM with CycloVac central vac hose kits. The Sebo ET-1 powerhead is nice, but I personally would take the Wessel Werk EBK360 over it since it has a headlight and foot pedal for height adjustment vs having to bend down for the Sebo ET-1. The only disadvantage the EBK360 has is higher replacement brushroll costs. I bought mine on Ebay to try out, same model Tom has. A nice machine, but I will concur with others that they are overpriced for what they are. And if the TriStar CXL was still available to buy new, I would take it hands down over the Patriot. Rob | ||

Les, Schoettler makes 2 bags for the Patriot - the open top Stormy Bag and the closed top bag. Only the Stormy Bag would fit the AirStorm as it doesn't have the tube on the bag door.
I actually fit my Patriot with a 1 7/8" Ridgid wet dry vac wand, cut down to size and held in place on the bag door with a spring clamp. Doing that I can fit either a Kenmore Q HEPA Cloth bag or Miele GN HEPA CLoth bag, and both will fit snug on the tube. I also had to make a cardboard rim out of a cereal box so the bag door seals to the cloth bag like it would if a bag with a collar was inside. You wouldn't be able to fit a Lux Type C HEPA Cloth bag, the hole on the Lux bag collar is too small. | ||
