Nice to see that manufacturers are really working on new cordless, rechargeable power nozzles that you can buy to upgrade suction-only canisters and central vacs. Allows you to own a suction-only vacuum with low-maintenance lightweight hoses and wands and handles for cleaning when you don’t need a powered carpet nozzle. Then attach these new rechargeable power nozzles for deep cleaning of high pile carpeting and rugs.

While the Perfect battery nozzle is far from "Perfect", the heavy battery pushes the brushes deeper into the carpet. For open spaces, it's fine. But it doesn't fit under anything.
I absolutely LOVE being able to use my vintage straight suction canisters with a "Power Nozzle". I also have the Volt nozzle, which I don't care for as much but it works just fine. For low suction canisters like a model 12 Lux or a Model B Rexair, the Volt is perfect because of its suction boost from its fan. My 1956 Air-Way model 77 sure loves his Perfect friend.

You couldn't really use a turbine nozzle with any of the Lux or Rexair or old straight suction canisters as too much of the airflow wouldn't go to the rug. On central vacs like my SilentMaster, it has too much suction and airflow - a turbine head screams. The battery power nozzles seem to fill a cleaning void for both my Central as well as my vintage canisters.

Honestly, I've never been a fan of canisters. They work but they're just not my preferred type of vacuum to use. Even if they're non electric, I still prefer to use turbine heads as I'm not really sold on cordless powerheads. At least for the newer models because I wouldn't want to use something that's old and couldn't get parts for anymore. As far as noises go, turbine heads have never really been an issue for me, especially for the fact that I can lower the suction valve on the hose. When I get a house of my own, I wouldn't mind having a Turbocat kit. I once cleaned my aunt's neighbor house with a Vacuflo 566Q unit and a Turbocat kit, I was really impressed by how well it actually cleaned that house since the system had more power than our Beam we have.

I used to think that way about my really old vacuums, but one day I realized they couldn't put them in the coffin with me so I should just enjoy them while I'm here. If a vintage machine breaks down and there are no parts, I just go on to the next. If I used every vintage vac in the collection for 1 month, I'd be dead before they were all used for that month.
