Here are some of my latest restorations
1989 Royal 886
2005 Royal Everlast 8200
1994 Royal Stark 5700
1995 dirt devil broom vac
All these vacuums were in very rough shape when I bought them and heavily oxidized , now all are running like new with new brush rolls and ready to go to work for another 30 + years.
Enjoy the pics.

To my eyes

These all could pass as "factory fresh" new. Looks like you do good work. Thanks for sharing.

Great job! Those Royals look like new now. In my opinion, at least 1 Royal upright is a MUST for a vacuum collection. Powerful, much lighter than a Kirby to use on carpet, great filtration when used with HEPA Cloth bags, and they seem to last forever. Paired with a nice straight suction canister, they make a great home cleaning team.

Thank’s guy’s I enjoy restoring the old metal bodied vacuums they are so tough and reliable.
I started out a few years back restoring antiques but found they are harder to find now a days and more expensive , so I decided last December to try restoring a vacuum and then it stemmed out from there, now I have almost 20 of them, my wife thinks I’m obsessed but she’s not complaining that I’m vacuuming the rugs twice a week though…lol
Now I’m on the hunt again for a vacuum that needs to be saved and restored.

Those Royals are beautiful, very nice work. I to enjoy the restoration process, To me its the best part of collecting is to take what was a wreck and make it new again

Cheers G
