I've had this R2 unit about 10 years from a garage sale of a developer of my subdivision. He must have also been involved with construction also since there is heavy over spray on this Electrolux CB. Very little corrosion so he must not have tried to use it for wet materials. Using it yesterday there was a noticeable drop in suction so I opened it up and saw the scorched commutator segments. I cleaned up the brushes, brush holders and armature and did some testing and could not find anything drastically wrong. When I turn it on the brushes throw lots of sparks and instantly turn the commutator segments black again. I do not own a growler.

The filter bag is excellent condition as well as the gasket. Before yesterday I had no idea there was interest in the CB, it was just a cool old and handy vacuum for my shop. Anyone interested can message me. I will not ship it or deliver it. Zip code is 78737

lol someone with a large garage with a several thousand dollar hydraulic car lift complains about spending minimum $5 membership donation to help a site out with money.

The reasons the motor is sparking more is you did not put the brushes back into the motor the exact way you removed them (always take photos and mark things for alignment).
