I seen this guy sitting at the thrift store for $35 and thought it was too good to leave there. This machine certainly has an interesting history. On the surface it seems almost unused. There is hardly any scuffing or scratches in the body; the brush roll looked new, and the exhaust filters didn’t really have carbon dust on them. It did have some issues though. Problem one was the hose that connects the body to the power nozzle had split. Then the nozzle was completely blocked. The most unusual problem though was the brush motor was completely locked up. I cleared the block up and for now taped up the hose, I’ll have to order a new one. I was able to pull a brush motor from a newer aerus power nozzle that didn’t have a canister and made it work.

I will probably press this unit into commercial service at the hotel and give my poor Versamatic a break. Just using it around the house though it seems to be a great vacuum. Quite, strong suction, good agitation, seems to have solid filtration as well. I like that it had a separate brush on/off switch, as well as a handle position switch for the brush (it shuts off when the handle is locked upright) and the brush shuts off when you pull the hose out. The only thing so far that I don’t like is that the hose draws on the left side, which might take some getting used to as a right handed person, and the extension wand does not disconnect from the hose. Otherwise really looking forward to putting this guy to its paces.
