I was skeptical on making this thrift purchase as many vacs I come across are in the worst condition but I gave my chance with this one. The first vacuum I remembered my mother using was a late 90s red Hoover caddy vac. This was a rather turrbopower version with the micro lite panel and I just had to get it. A few cleanings and it's possibly one of the best vacuums I've ever used.

1. Elites are known to be loud but it's been years since I've really heard one, especially a 7 Amper. Surprisingly quieter than I expected. Almost hums on my carpet. Not newer shark quiet obviously but light-years quieter than the XL2 40th Ultra I sold off.

2. The carpet lines this thing makes are some of the best I've honestly seen any powerful vacuum give. This one in particular makes the carpet look fresher and I'd say it's even a good vacuum to use as a prevac to carpet washing. Fan first will always give more suction and airflow at the nozzle.

This one is too good for me to use too much, soo in the meantime I'll grab my windtunnel air steerable for cleaning around the house as it IMO is insanely good for a big box retailer vac sold now. But I'm VERY happy I decided to get it.

Their is something about Hoover and their carpet lines. They just seem to give a certain freshness to the carpet. I have never seen any other brand that leaves carpet lines like a hoover does .

Its exactly what you get with 90s Elite based machines, that and the original Windtunnels which are also superb!!!!!! Have two of those!

Yeah Windtunnel vacs can groom and fluff a carpet nicely. I used mine for an old patio rug that was weatherbeaten and trampled and full of dog hair too and it made it look brand new

They pull up the dirt really well for clean air units and make the greatest looking lines. Compare that to a cheap Bissell Powerforce bagless that does nothing more than pick up carpet fibers and not real fine dust and dirt. Donated mine to a local charity box, wasnt too great. Someone will get decent mileage out of it though im sure.

Hoovers do make great vac lines

I have a Guardsman that leaves beautiful lines in the red Karastan carpeting.

I've found that, if you face a certain direction in my room w/ the white Karasatan,  the Convertibles also leave great lines.
