While I still don't think robot vacuums have gotten to the point where they can take the place of corded vacuums, they have come a long way in the last 20 years, originally they would just bounce around the room randomly and were about as powerful as a dust buster. The robots available now are definitely more powerful, can map your house, can do some limited mopping and can be controlled with smart phone apps. Some of them can automatically empty themselves in to a dust bag in the dock that you have to change every couple of months. I've recently started building a robot vacuum collection and thought I would show everyone what I have. I think all of these are good bots but some are better than others.
First is the Roomba J7 Plus, the plus version includes a self emptying base where as the J7 includes just the regular charge base. This is a good robot but I think it's navigation is not as good as some other bots. It uses a camera on the front to navigate and map the house. Many other bots use Lidar which uses lasers for mapping and navigation.

Next is the Roborock S7 Max V. I think this is one of the best, if not the best robot vacuum that is available right now. It's very powerful, cleans really well and also has a mop feature. I have the version with just the charge base but you can also get it with an auto empty dock or the ultra dock which empties the robot and also washes the mop pad.

Next up is the Roborock S4 Max, this bot is just a vacuum, it doesn't have the mopping feature but it's a great robot vacuum and has a lot of great features for the price. I think Roborock has some of the best navigation on their bots and if I am asked what robot vacuum brand to consider, Roborock is my first choice.

Next up is the Neabot Q11. This bot has the mapping lasers in the front rather than on top, it also includes an auto empty base.

Next up is the Eufy Robovac X8. This is Eufy's top of the line bot and it actually has two vacuum motors for increased cleaning power. It also has great navigation.

And last but not least, the Dreametech L10. This bot has a laser on top and also has a laser in the front to see and avoid objects, similar to the Roborock S7 Max V, it also has the mopping feature.

I usually send out at least one bot each day, just for fun I tried sending them all out at once but that didn't work too well, they ended up getting confused.

Hoover, just to have one for my collection.  I think someone took it out of the box once when I hosted a minimeet.  I strongly doubt it will ever be "put into service".

I don't use Roombas either but when I find one for less than $20 I grab it. One of my other hobbies is R/C cars so these slot right in there to tinker with and play around with.

I just got one of the new Shark ones with the vacuum-base dock for 99 cents (and $15 shipping). Guy didn't know what he had. Said "it didn't work and just went in circles". Turns out it had its memory programmed to a person's phone app for a path to take and it couldn't find the connection to the map when turned on so it just went in circles. I had to get a cheap phone off eBay and then install the app and connect to it to have it forget the old map and I made a new one to see what it would do, and boom, it worked. It went off like normal in its little patterns.
