Nice powerhead, Antoine. Was your TriStar powerhead beyond repair?

I have a black version of that powerhead with a metal Miele tool adapter with a buttonlock installed for my 2007 Miele S5280 Callisto. It does work good, but doesn't groom that well with the stock brushes on the brushroll and quite a bit noisier than a Sweep and Groom. One thing you can do to improve it's grooming and quiet it down is to put Sweep and Groom brushroll strips and metal brush core on the brushroll. The Sweep and Groom brushroll strips are much more substantial than the Chinese brushroll strips and stick out more, definitely improves the grooming abilities of the powerhead considerably. Just beware you must use the metal brush core from the Sweep and Groom for this, it's a little bit thicker metal than the Chinese metal brush core, if you try using the Chinese metal brush core you will have a difficult time getting the end caps and metal rod back in place properly. Also be very careful not to break the plastic casing when reassembling the powerhead, these powerheads use very cheap plastic compared to a Sweep and Groom.

Antoine, contact Doug Smith, Collector2 on Vacuumland. He may be able to hook you up with a chest for your Lux 89, or be able to point you in the direction of someone who has one for sale.
