Love that wheeled carpet nozzle! Wheels are placed where they should be: at the pressure point where the user pushes down on the wand. Then only the pressure of the suction allows the nozzle to freely bear down on the nap to groom the carpet.

the s3001 celebrity of 1973 isnt easy to find. it had a special hose that had a common failure point being able to adjust the suction buttons from the hose. the reason you cant find one, is because most of them were tossed. theyre a rare find intact today with the original hose and attachments.

Will,

Over many years, among many, many vacs I have had at least 1 of the unique remote switch Celebritys. As I said above there might be one "at least similar".As I was not told to halt the search unless I had the "exact" model I felt I could share my findings in words(as John did)as well as pictures. If anyone was harmed by seeing the wrong Celebrity I am deeply sorry.
Jimmy

They might not be this exact model, I can't remember. But, yes, I'd definitely sell one. I'll get it out very soon and show it to you.

Hi Will - I think the button on the handle just switched the cleaner on and off using air pressure in a separate narrow air tube in the hose. It seems that this switch was prone to failure. Was there a standard electric power button on the canister that could be used as a back-up?

Yes, that is correct the air switch only turned off the canister. I had one of those in really nice shape that I found at the underground flea market in KC. I eventually sold it on eBay. First to a buyer that didn’t pay. I relisted it or donated it I can’t remember. I never could get the air switch to function. The original hose looked like some sort of alien tentacle to me with the additional hose for the switch.

Yes there was a button on the canister to turn it on and off. I think the air switch was supposed to pull it down or up (slider). It seems really interesting how that worked.
