So I went to an antiques fair today and I spotted a blue, vintage canister vacuum. At a distance, I could make out "Electro" on the side of it and thought for a second it might be an Electrolux LX but when I got up to it, I saw that it was an Electro-Hygiene". When I looked at the price tag, I saw that the seller had mis-identified it as an "Electrolux Electro-Hygiene". I got a little chuckle out of it, and even though it appeared to be in nice shape and had a box of tools with it, the $75 they were asking was more than I wanted to pay and I wasn't in the mood for a haggle, so I left it where it was and let my self-imposed vacuum moratorium stand.
Later, I saw a similar vintage Kenmore canister that had been converted into a lamp. It looked pretty cool but not to my taste, especially for the asking price, so again I just walked away. |
