This is exciting! Josh sent an image from facebook of one of these so I had to look into it. I got in contact with the North American distributor of Numatic, Nacecare, and they confirmed this is an actual machine coming out! It should be available in like Mid summer according to the rep unfortunately price point is still unknown.

That's really cool you were able to get more info on it. I heard from a friend that contacted Numatic UK that the price point should be around 300 pounds uk. Will be more here I'm sure

(P.s. if you look back I started a thread about this cleaner earlier today, with the picture from facebook you probably saw)

Didn't mean to steal your thunder! I didn't scroll down too far and didn't see you had made a thread on it.

No worries! You managed to get more concrete info than I did! It's a cool looking machine, I'm excited for it. Seems like it's generating a lot of buzz already.

It looks like every other $40 chinese stick vac but let's hope the same Numatic pride and love is put into it that makes it a China-killer.

What is this "pod" thing? Is it like a little mini dust bag?

Also if that says 25V that sounds pretty powerful.

Incredible, the amount of effort it took to figure out how to make a bagged system that tiny must have been very difficult

This should be efficient because there is no cyclones to starve the motor.

That’s quite similar to the Oreck pod idea with their bagged cordless stick vac.

"Pods"

The use of the term "pods" instead of bags reminded me of the Oreck Pod cordless from a few years back too. Seems they are trying to skirt around calling disposable dirt collection things "bags" nowadays.

It's also very similar to the "Halo" branded cordless vacuum in the UK (no relation to the oreck style Halo uprights from a few years back).

I hope it has decent airflow, my Henry cordless canister has pretty good airflow for a cordless despite not using a brushless motor. If this machine can match or surpass that, and have a decent brushbar, it should stand up very well performance wise.

The 'pods' look like rigid air filters used on an engine. I heard they are wrapped with a filter cloth and are designed to be emptied easily, and replaced when needed. Nice feature, since they only hold around 1 quart. So bagged, and bagless all in one, without a 'hidden' filter most people no not know exists with a bagless vac. I kinda like this.

My big question is how much will the 'pods' cost. They are more than just a bag, so I do not expect a 6-pack for a few bucks... And I sure hope they do not try to DRM them like printers, coffee makers and now Dymo labelers!
