Unique use for your Rainbow

I did something very similar just weeks ago. I waited for a cold night so the garage would be cold...I have this small chest freezer that I have never defrosted...like literally 17 years...total neglect on my part but I just kept putting it off.. I didn't use hot water in my rainbow. I just sucked cold water through the hose to fill the basin...then I turned the hose to exhaust and just left the hose blowing rainbow exhaust in the freezer for like 30 mins...meanwhile the food was just in a box sitting in the cold garage not really thawing out...I guess it softened the ice enough so that when I went to check it...I had the plastic putty knife and I stuck it behind the ice and just used a little bit of force and the whole block of ice from one side just fell to the bottom.......then did the other side...same thing.. I couldn't believe it only took about 45 min's total to do this...I took blocks of ice to the sink then I sucked up any remaining water and crumbs then wiped it out...and turned it back on..

I did throw some stuff away...I was looking up videos about freezer organization... one video I watched...this lady used different superhero tote bags for different things. So I got some bags and divided stuff up so I know what type of foods are in which bag. so there's nothing loose in the freezer now. It's all in 4 different bags...It's so much better than digging around for loose items and items that are at the bottom that never get used.

Checkrate/Likes When someone leaves the freezer door open on your Frigidaire and your get that horrible noise from the ice and fan, no need to call the repairman or even empty your freezer if you own a Rainbow. (1) Turn the Frigidaire off (2) pick up hot water with your hose to clean the hose(3) fill the water basin with HOT water(4) connect your hose to the exhaust(5) using the crevice tool and the warm air from your Rainbow the ice is melted in less than 10 minutes (5) place the crevice tool close to the iced up vent, gently close the door and sit your Rainbow in front of the door to hold the hose in place. (6) if you have any melted water -you can now pick it up using the hose in the suction end of the Rainbow. No worry of blowing dirty air into the Frigidaire with the Rainbow as the water is clean and I have checked my hepa filter and after 6-7 years, it is still clean and white. Checkrate/Likes The Airway ad for the Model 66 shows the wands being placed in the blower end of the machine sitting on a small table to reach the freezer compartment. Best way to defrost a freezer back in the day.

Checkrate/Likes *This may sound random.....* Does anyones rainbowmate bogged down when using it. I've felt that way since I first got mines. Mines is the updated one with the LED lights. And the thing is, I'm not putting any heavy pressure down on it.

Checkrate/Likes *I just use�* My hair dryer to quickly defrost the ice or place a small space heater in the freezer with the door slightly ajar and towels on the floor in front of it. If you use the heater the reason you have to leave the door ajar is because it will get very hot in the freezer super quickly and the heater have safety shut off switches if they get too hot and having it trigger shutting off the heater would slow the process down�this way with the door open the air stays pretty hot in the freezer but not super hot. You�d want to put the heater or hair dryer somewhere where water will not drip on it for safety reasons. I had a freezer that would really freeze up badly if the door was accidentally left ajar overnight. The humidity from the garage would cause it to freeze up and it wouldn�t shut off and defrost because the door was stuck open and it was stuck trying to maintain the temperature. Jon
