It’s nice to drive a different set of wheels every now and then! This is my first Hoover Convertible of this particular style! A special thanks to Charles L. for picking this up for me. Cosmetically it’s in good condition but it will require some maintenance. Otherwise I’m pretty satisfied. I just couldn’t say no to this color! No thread hijacker’s or low jackers please. Thx ☺️

Very nice

Yes, indeed it is fun to use something different every now and then. I like the color. And the ease in converting on these older models looks easier than the newer style in my opinion but I’ve never had an older style set of tools to use on the one I had at one time. Does yours have the two speed motor where it goes into high speed when the hose is inserted? The one I had was equipped with that feature. Enjoy!

Looks clean as a whistle, Keith; glad it's in your collection. I used to own one, too. I don't believe the tool set is not from its production era. Mine had the standard 4-piece Model 3250 set with the oval graphic on the carton like your smaller one. Maybe yours was sold at the end of the run, because it's the same color. Btw, what is stored in the small carton?

For the benefit of those unfamiliar with the Model 36 it's a "Convertible Special" with limited features - sans headlight, hand grip and pedal pads, snap outer bag rather than zippered, and shorter power cord & furniture guard. The color is tropical island green, and it was manufactured from 1966-68.

This was produced early in the run with the Hoover medallion. In May 1966 the company switched to using the smaller Hoover decal.

Keith,

That's a gorgeous machine! I've always been partial to that color as well, and the fact it's complete and clean speaks volumes to what kind of life it's had! With all of the high-pitched screaming motors most vacs have today, there's something so relaxing about the soft hum of a classic Hoover Convertible motor....especially if it's one with the metal fan. Growing up, I could tell you the sound of a Convertible over any other vacuum just by the way the motor growled to life! I still enjoy playing with some of mine, even though I don't have much carpet to vacuum these days! Enjoy that beauty! Hopefully the maintenance you need to perform is minor and that will last a lifetime and beyond!
