Mine came from Vac-Way in Scranton. It just needs an overhaul and I'm getting a new bag. Tom Anderson has the whole line. I took photos of all of them.

I have about 6 'Commercial' cleaners.
Great machines, indeed.

John Gregory, owner of Gregory's Sweeper Central in PA gave me the low down on the grey Commercial Model. It's from April of 1978. It has front tool conversion, which was the running change. Mr. Gregory is the reigning expert of all things Hoover. My friends and I will all be visiting him in June at his store.

Nick,

Here's the info straight from North Canton, Ohio.
Your cleaner, (colors are fireglow orange w/ almond raisin accents)There are 2 models. Model U7067 has a Type A bag, the other, not.

Then, the "gray" ones: 4 models (look identical) U7019 and U7021 1 has 2 brushes and a beater bar. The other: 1 brush, no beater bar. Then, U7039 and U7041, same idea of brushes and beater bars, but, plastic bases. After the gray, came the "red" one. Then, another cream model U7075 It has front tool conversion and a 50' cord The 1st orange model, 1979. There are numbers of models made. But, one cannot pinpoint the exact date of manufacture from those serial numbers.
I hope this helps.

I took a shot in the dark and just kept Googling "hoover" and "u7075" with random years attached, and after maybe 8 guesses I got lucky!

Found a newspaper ad from the Victoria Advocate from Victoria, TX from June 9, 1981 that mentions the U7075.

Thanks!

Out of curiosity, when was that from? It looks like that test was from 1979. Also, any ideas why commercial vacuums are so often orange?

The spec sheets on the U7075 are from late 1979. The machine first appeared in early 1980.

Tom Anderson has those spec sheets. That's where I got the info. These sheets, were apparently sent from Scranton PA. to be used in here. They didn't come from the thread publisher.
But, the point is that you have the info. And, it is correct info. Tom A. (N. Canton) has filing cabinets chock-full of the Hoover line specs. Because of him, I've been able to start my own files on the products. No faxing, scanning, etc. He's a good guy.

I learned that, the 2nd to last photo was actually taken, years ago, at the Canton Library. Interesting little fact that most people wouldn't know.

The orange metal based Commercial Hoover ran until 1985. There were no plastic-base gray Commercial models. In 1985, Hoover launched the model C1065 with a plastic base and steel-lined fan chamber. So your orange commercial U7075 lineup ran until 1985.
