Shark Vertex Bagless Corded Canister Vacuum with DuoClean PowerFins doesn't look too bad. Anyone tried it? I wonder how well it will hold up with the swivel on the "pole" design.

I was waiting for someone to say something about this….

That hinged wand looks problematic, so do the filters. Shark needs a canister concept and this has potential. It really needs a motorized mini brush, instead of the turbine powered one.

Do those PowerFins scratch bare floors? Can you turn the agitator off for bare floor cleaning? Just curious….

Yes

I saw this video on YouTube and it did show on/off control for the brush roll. I attached the link below. Unfortunately it also turns off the fluffy brush roll for the flooring. I personally think a better design would be if the fluffy floor brush could operate independently. My biggest complaint about Shark is that their machines are made to be better suited for modern home surfaces, not so much for real plank flooring or older/ possibly antique rugs.

Hopefully this model includes one of Shark’s special bare floor tools with the disposable mopping cloth…that would be a great attachment to have for this vac.

Here’s your answer:

This video, combined with my previous experience with Shark, has told me all I need to know about the latest machine they made. Also should mention, the pick up test was originally done in the unboxing video and edited into this one, so the machine was running on new filters and an empty bin when the test was done.

Oops, just saw it was the canister we’re talking about not the upright. Chuckle. All the same, the dual clean head is only good for marketing purposes and doesn’t clean well, even with the machine at peak performance level, as clearly explained here:
