I always see post of everyone’s vacuum collections and find them very impressive, just figured I’d show my one Kirby 510 that I restored a few years ago! I lost all before pictures and restoration ones when my old phone got smashed, but it was rough lol, I found it behind a deep freeze in the mud at a local scrap metal hard

This is a crude picture of a picture, but it shows a few of the other kirbys I have in my collection

Was your 510 made in Canada by Gelling Ltd.?

I thought so. I looked online and it would appear that Switson took over the license for Canadian manufacture and sale of Kirbys starting with model 514 in 1954.

Again, may I ask if the 518 you also have is the Canadian 616 made by Switson?

That’s neat information for sure! And the 518 I’m working on is actually an American model so 518, I had it shipped to Canada

I see now, since you mentioned that before... otherwise you would have said model 616 (in your post about the 518).

Again, the carbon brushes you want for both your 518 and your 510 would be stamped "B75."

Original Kirby 515

Hi, I am new to this thread and was wondering if I could get some advice about how much to ask for my Kirby 515 and where should I list it? I also have 3 original boxes with attachments for it. The boxes have some water damage but all of the hardware is fine. I looked on eBay and they have so many listings I don't know if people still go there to find things. Any suggestions will be appreciated. I'll try to add a couple pictures also. Thanks.

Cousin Eddy

Thanks but what do you think would be the place for me to list it for sale and any idea how much I should ask for it?
