Last year I had asked a few you guys here for some questions on some vacuums at I had picked up and started to go through and clean up. I've had them for a while and I think it's time for them to move on so the first one I am going to put up here and see if it goes is that 1925 Scott Fitzer it's all original with the exception of the front axle which I had to machine a new one to fit. The motor is free but it needs a rebuild as it sounds like the bearings are gone. It is what it is. I'm thinking it's probably in the range of $400 plus shipping let me know if you think I'm too far off or if you've got a better offer but I really don't think it's going to go too much below that it's a really nice unit especially for someone who collects.

The Scott & Fetzer Sanitation System was produced from 1928 until 1934. If I know right, this was Jim Kirby's first machine to be convertible from upright to canister operation.

From 1928 to circa 1930, this had the standard outer bag set with the Emtor connector. Then in 1930, a large Emtor was used and that would remain a Kirby feature at large until 1984. Yours has this newer feature present, and the printing on the bag reflects this.

Starting about 1932, the safety switch -- which prevents the cleaner from running (provided the machine is plugged in and then switched on) unless something was attached to the front of it -- was added.
