In the last couple months I received two more Royal vacuums. The first of the two is model 992 that is dark blue and the second one is model 880 which is light blue. The 880 was two separate purchases, motor unit without bag, and the handle minus rubber grip. The 880 was a reduced price from the seller. I am happy with both purchases.

Edward,

Awesome!

The 880 spans three decades (produced from 1965 to 1987), while the 992 was made from 1988 to 1990. If your 992 is a 1988 model it will have the white cord.

The Royal 992

Hey Ben, the model 992 cord that connects from the handle to the motor unit is white. Everything else about the machine is the dark blue.

Pictures of the vacuum plates

I found a picture of the ID plates for the model 880 and model 992. I want to take more pictures of them when I'm able to.

Edward,

Your 992 was built in January 1989.

Your 880 was built in 1969 or 1970.
