Hello VacuumLand!
I recently came upon a purchased—and never used—Filter Queen D33 that was kept in its original packaging, in a climate-controlled environment! I am still in shock that I found it. I am 34 years old now, and I fell in love with vacuums when I was a young boy and first saw my babysitter’s FQ D33. Seriously, pinch me, this takes me back! Does anyone know how to determine manufacturers date based on serial # for Filter Queen vacuums? I now have a total of four models, to include: two D33’s, one 99A Majestic Triple Crown w/curved wand, and a Limited Edition 70th Anniversary Edition (purchased brand new in 1998). I’d love to find out the dates of production on my two D33’s and 99A.
Happy vacuuming! Thanks,
Austin

I'm not sure but...

I think that the first three digits are Month-Year (197 being Jan of 97')
Hope it helps

Thank you, kirboover!
I’ll see if my serial numbers align with your message.
I am super anxious to find out!
Best,
Austin

Beginning with the Majestic, they stamped three digits into the serial number ring, such as 499 which is fourth quarter of 1999 (example). Before that, the only way to know the manufacturing date is to look on the motor itself.
