Hello all, I have an early 'Lux E that doesn't sound like I remember my parents' E sounding.  My AE does sound like I remember.  Tig21er's post 284333 states that beginning with the E they switched to thin fans and a bronze rear bearing.  My parents' E had two ball bearings; I remember that clearly because I maintained it for years.  So does mine.  My question is, were any E motors made with twin ball bearings and thin fans?  If not, my aural memory must be faulty because my parents' E had a galvanized fan case like mine.  FWIW my parents bought their E in 1956 and it had the anti-tip piece on the front caster.  Mine didn't when I got it, but I added one because it looked incomplete without it.

Too bad my parents didn't wait a year to demote their prewar XXX.  IMO the AE is way cooler.
