Figured I would take a few minutes and share some thoughts on the SRX. First its a nice vacuum that needs a bigger motor. Compared to the E2B, the loss in water lift 80 on the E2B and 60 on the SRX is noticeable. I like the quality of the machine, especially the hose connection. Forward facing controls and improved handle grip, and it seems to roll easier. Sruts and a bigger HEPA I like, and the attachments are still high quality and love the digital motors.
The PN3 is both good and bad. Quiet, leaks air everywhere, poor locking mechanism, center belt design, very narrow air path. However, I added the black on black HD brush strips and removed the ridges on the rollers behind the nozzle opening leaving just the small black roller itself. Amazing performance compared to stock with a significant increase in pick up over the standard configuration or the PN12. The wands are nice but leak as well. Rainbow engineers should have spent more time looking at the performance characteristics of Sebo, Miele and Lux and less time on, say over engineered cord holders.
Excellent scent capabilities, good performance, versatility and low operating costs with no loss of suction are plusses. Added time dealing with the water and being way overpriced are definite minuses. Power nozzle not suitable for use on hard floors due to belt guard and scratching potential.
First of all, let me start off by saying I've had my unit for almost 2 years and have used all the features and optionals accessories. The machine is nice and easy to use and easy to maintain. The same can be said for the optional accessories. But other than that, I don't have much to say about it. Now don't get me wrong i still use it and still think it was well worth the investment but heres where I'm going to be a critic and most of it has to do with the accessories and attachments.
Starting with the Rainjet, that accessory is nice and easy to use, but at times it can be back breaking and a sweat job. And then having to clean the scrub brush on it can be teadious, especially if theres hair and junk in the bristles. I do like how you can use any type of cleaning solution in that accessory and it won't damange it. I do wish rexair would redesign this accessory and make a motorize brush or a spinning bruh similar to the bissell crosswave.
Now my next complaint with the Rainbow accessories is with the Minijet. I feel that the brush attachment needs to have more rows of bristles. I also thing rexair should design its own spining scrub brush attachment, kind of like what hoover has with the spinscrub brush. This accessory can use an update with the add on of addtional brushes.
The RainbowMate is ok with the exception of slowing down on some of my furniture pieces. This is where the power nozzle comes into play. I sometimes use the power nozzle to clean certain objects and it does a good job of moving itselfs on its own. I don't use it on my flooring since well most of what I have is laminate flooring so i just use the floor brush, which is ok. I do wish Rexair will come out with its own version of a soft roller cleaner head cause the floor brush it a bit of a pain to clean, especially with pet hair on it.
The one thing I would change about the machine itself is to change the way the fragrances work with it. What I mean is when the system is on speeds 1 and 2 and even 3 you can't even smell the fragrances unless your close to the machine. The fragrances do work on speed 4 and when moving the machine around the home cleaning with it,
