I found a new use for my Rainbow today. My Frigidaire had started to make a horrible noise from the fan hitting ice build up. This happened several years ago and it cost a bunch to have a service man come and fix the problem. I was advised this COULD happen after several years use.

I started by picking up about 2 quarts of hot water and disinfectant to clean my hose. Next I loaded the water basin with HOT water. I hooked the hose to the exhaust and with the crevice tool in place the ice was melted in less than 5 minutes. Problem solved.

Ahh I remember that problem with my side by side. The ice would drip down and build up about a 3 foot tall block of ice in the bottom compartment/shelf. It's a design flaw with all of them that companies refuse to fix. Got a simple upright freezer and never had that issue since.

Huskyvacs,

I agree. Hate the design as even though the frig is huge, BOTH sides are TOO narrow. If you are a person who actually cooks meals, it is a constant fight to rearrange stored food. Never had this problem with the former bottom freezer Frigidaire. Nice FULL width shelves above and baskets that rolled out in the bottom. On this side by side-every time you open the narrow freezer door-stuff falls out.
The worst items are large pizzas, turkey , frozen chicken or even a large pan with left overs. Also the ice maker takes a huge amount of space in the side -by-side freezer. I SHOULD have done some reading BEFORE I made the purchase of this side -by-side design.
