So I just got this awesome vacuum find on Goodwill 2 weeks ago, it's a Walmart GE 12 amp bagged upright vacuum. Got it for $6 and it needs a tube replacement with the cord retainer and I got one used from ebay that came from a Electrolux Volta but apparently doesn't fit. Because it came from a bagless model not bagged. Anyone have a spare part to fit on the GE bagged upright? Thank y'all very much.

Wow, now thats a rare one. I've never even seen a bagged variant, only heard of them. Been looking for the red Eureka bagless version for quite some time now. Good luck with the part! Maybe one of those sites such as VacuumPartsWarehouse?

Hi Damien. I already checked vacspartswarehouse before, sadly they don't have it anymore. I also asked an ebay seller who's selling a few parts from this vacuum, the seller sold that part a while ago.

Not Damien lol

Maybe if you know someone who 3D prints, they could make you a 2 piece tube? A 1 piece print would be cumbersome.

What is wrong with the original?

Sorry I got confused who's who. Damien is 2011Hoover700. The original part for the GE has a broken cord retainer.

I don't know anyone who 3D prints.

So far the GE is looking good. I just cleaned it up almost 2 weeks ago and gave it a new HEPA filter and Numatic HEPA bag. Also a new dusting brush, a crevice tool from a red eureka maxima, nested wands, a new pre motor filter, a new brush roll that was listed for a eureka victory but lol, and all I got left is a stretch hose from a eureka maxima as well.

And the only flaw it also has is the very top piece of the handle is missing. No biggie.😁

These GE uprights from this era are rare. I only ever seen one in my 4 years of collecting.

FlexSeal makes a clear colored sealant. Clean up the tube with some plastic polish and remove the scuffs and such, then brush over the cracked part with FlexSeal clear on the outside and inside and let it dry. It will seal up your tube for now until you can find a replacement. Also save eBay searches for that part, you never know when something will show up.

Only other thing you can do is target all vacuum shops around you and eMail them asking if they have that part somewhere and they should be able to ship it to you.

Would it be possible to cut down the tube from the Volta or will that make the cord hook too low?

Vacuumman, maybe I can cut the cord hook part off and connect it on the original GE part?

Cord Hook

Cutting the hook off and gluing it onto the old part may be possible, but it will most likely require an extremely strong glue.

Forgot to mention that when I was 7,I first saw this GE model from my mom's ex's late mom around late 2003. And I always wanted to use it but sadly never did. She sold it in 2011 because in 2009 she brought a Dyson DC14.
