I have a green Eureka, with the box-bag, and it's beginning to wear out at the throat. Is there any way to preserve these bags, or should I replace it, and frame the front of the bag as wall art?

Since the worn area is probably not visible from the front, why not try to sew on some matching green fabric where the holes need to be patched?

They can be patched by sewing? It's made of perforated vinyl

I have seen some patched with rafting innertube patches, from the inside.

I don't see why you can't sew on a patch. I would just say keep the stitch width 1/8" or bigger.

I’d make a patch on the inside using similar material ,contact cement on the repair patch
