The letters seem to be a play on the word Excelsior? I have no clue.
This was $25 at the 127 yard sale, after some new rubber tires it works very well. The bellows even suck up hair, that is a first for any of my bellow sweepers! I have never seen one before, does anyone have info on it? The Kenney patent label is green, and there are remnants of a paper label on the bottom. I need to replace one small piece of veneer on one side, and the whole other side needs new veneer due to excessive bubbling. Thankfully there were no labels on the sides, so it shouldn't be too hard. Notice how small it is compared to my Cadillac - it is much smaller and more narrow than all of my other bellow sweepers. I see some parts on it, like the wheels, that were also used on the Domestic sweepers, maybe they were made by the same company? The handle leans forward quite a lot when stood up(hard to see in pic), and that appears to be the original placement of the handle stop. The brushroll mechanism is interesting, the roller bar is pushed down onto the carpet by a leaf spring, but it can be snapped upwards into place to disengage the roller all together. |
