I saw where someone is locally selling a Hoover Windtunnel 2 bagged. I believe these are fairly rare? At least I don't remember seeing any around. I also think this might be the only upright Hoover made with two motors. Correct me if wrong.
Would this be worth getting from a collector standpoint? They want $40 which seems kind of high to me. But it looks in good shape. | ||

I had this one for a while And it was also two motors with a Brushroll on/off switch. This was actually kind of a neat machine. Especially once I converted it to use one of the bag chambers. | ||

I would say that it is worth getting as they are some what of a rarity nowadays. They were not particularly great machines with numerous flaws with the most prominent being the inflated size and large weight, but the are powerful machines that are decently well built on some areas. It is one of those things that is worth picking up because it is strange. In 20 years, for example, I doubt these will be a common sight even remotely. I particularly want the bagless version to match the bagged one. I passed on one a few years back and regret it. It looked like a monstrosity, but I have grown to like the "charm" of bad machines.
I actually just fully rebuilt one of these. They are not two-motor systems, but they do have lifetime belts, one of which is made by GoodYear (yes, the tire company). The setup is similar to what can be found on a SEBO upright, though different in quite a lot of ways. They are similar in that they have two belts with a pulley connecting them. Fully rebuilding one is not the most simple task, but they are designed decently well for the most part. The one I serviced had a Johnson manufactured motor despite me expecting it to have a Lamb like the WindTunnel V2. Good luck with it if you decide to grab it!

Thanks for the info! I don't know why I was thinking the Windtunnel 2 is a two motor setup, but that Goodyear belt is very interesting.
I do still like this era of Hoover because they still had aspects of older Hoovers, like the square plug and the similar cord hooks and attachments like the Elite. That Hoover Windtunnel Dual V is neat too, nice looking machine there. | ||

The Notorious Z400 and Z700 ... were two-motor machines as well. | ||

Electrolux in the UK had a vacuum with a similar set up called the Power System. We got the bagged variant in the USA as the Eureka Oxygen and the Electrolux Aptitude. It was able to convert from a bagged unit to the Whirlwinds flawed twin chamber cyclonic design.

I don't think you can compare the double brush roll set-ups in the current Shark Duo-Clean uprights with the older Hoover V2 upright. The Hoover had two identical brush rolls completely enclosed in the brush roll chamber. The Shark Duo-Clean power heads have a soft plush brush roll exposed at the front of the power head to grab large pieces of litter without "snow plowing" and to remove fine dust from bare floors. It's completely different from the second brush roller that sits behind it in the power head. | ||

There was also the Eureka Whirlwind version of that Electrolux. As well as the Eureka Airstream that was bagged. And the Kenmore Cyclonic Cleaning System that was bagless.
