Does anyone know what year this Electrolux 1205 was made? It has a smooth finish with a pigtail connector.

I think that would be a 1968 or '69 model. It's the second iteration. The very first ones (fairly rare, as I understand it) had a black lithographed plate on the control panel but they quickly transitioned to the second iteration like yours that has the plastic control panel. The pigtail connector disappeared with the third iteration around 1970. Both of my 1205s are this variant.

Direct Connection

This one also has a direct connection which I use because my only pigtail hose is braided which leaks. I use a vinyl hose on my Electrolux 1205, Golden Jubilee, Olympia one, and Silverado Deluxe. My 1205 has a white bag chamber. I have never seen that on any other 1205.

Early for sure

The ones with the pigtail hose connector were for sure early. Also, ones with no clip for the upholstery tool/dusting brush combo tool like yours were early. With that and the comments above, I’d guess 68 or 69! I like these models with both the pigtail and direct connect hose option…more versatile!

Don’t know if it’s worth mentioning….

But plenty of the early 1205s had both a pigtail connection and direct-connect for the hose.
