No

She's not golden. She is mustard yellow with sparkles. It looks exactly like my C9 who is still running strong after 2 years.

Were those tools spray painted???

Or is that gold a standard color for Compact/Tristar tools?

The first C8 tools were bone white, followed by the clear with gold specks in them. The clear with gold tools were used until Electrolux bought Tri-Star.

Love your C8. I remember them when they were brand new - how cool they looked when being removed from the box in front of the customer.

Yeah that packaging was something else.

I sold Tristars in 1985 (maroon 2 speed) and the unpacking part of the presentation would draw everyone into the room.

Happy for you...

and the paint looks to be in great shape too. I'm sure you felt the loss when the C9 bit the dust due to the fact you actually USE your vacuums on the daily. Are the motors the same size between C8 and C9 or did they grow bigger with each new model?

Can you use something like JB Weld or similar for gluing? On cleaning the white bumper you can spray 409 on to a wet sponge. Try that or take an old toothbrush and make a paste with cleanser and water, then lightly scrub. You can use a polish to shine up the bumper after cleaning, but be careful not to get it on the painted body or it could show up darker. Maybe mask around bumper with masking or painters tape, just a thought. There are products out that re-condition rubber also.

I just like 409 cleaner because it works well and doesn't have a harsh smell. It's as good as commercial cleaners yet sold for home use. It is one of the best for removing oily finger prints off of stainless steel refrigerator doors and other appliances. You can dilute it with water for lighter jobs and stretching your budget too!

You cannot tell the date of an Interstate Engineering machine by the serial number. The numbers were consecutive.

Fine I've been out of town 300 miles from where I live working in 100 to 125 degree heat. I drive 4 hours both ways twice week.
I have a couple brochures I can look at when i get home Friday.
I apologize too. I'm not luxlifes fan at all. The feelings are mutual as the message should of been directed solely to him. Just because he knows sebos history and electrux doesn't impress Mr. Him getting off hisA$$ a d answering the questions Inztead of correcting people. He's a dou che (that's not a name it had multiple meanings so don't cry to the moderator I'm offensive.
I blocked his posts but he's always showing up like the plague.
I'll check and let you know.

Antoine, if you have had any problems on Vacuumland, it is because YOU have made those problems. You come across as having a attitude of superiority, and god help if anyone ever contradicts anything you say in a post - you bite their head off!

Lesinutah also made a good point when he said in his post you hardly offer advice or help to other members. It seems to be the case most of the time with you. If you want people to like you and improve your experience here on Vacuumland, perhaps it's time to do some self reflection.

Rob
