Well, as most of you know, those of you that read and Replied to my other Post that is, I won't be getting that Hoover Convertible Model U4047 off ebay, as the Seller Ira, turned out to be a HUGE piece of Trash, so. :( For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, just read my other Post... ;)

Anywho, I found two other old Convertible's on ebay this Morning that I REALLY like, so I wanted to run them past you Guys, so you could not only tell me which one to Buy, but give me some more Detailed info on them both and maybe let me know what you all think of the Condition between the two of them you know...? ;)

Here's the first one, a BEAUTIFUL Hoover Convertible Model 1020, a Model I have ALWAYS wanted I might add... ;) Now as far as this one goes, other then the Plug on the Original Cord being Replaced, I do believe this one is ALL Original otherwise, so what do you Guys think, especially about the Plug on the Cord being Replaced, cuz honestly, that kinda bothers me a bit for some reason...? :/ To me though, this 1020 looks to be pretty good actually, almost, almost MINT and the BEST part about it is, I don't have to Bid on it, I can just Buy it now and be done with it, so what do you Guys all think huh...? ;)

Another 1020 Photo...

This time of the bottom, which looks really good to actually... ;)

Now here's the other Convertible, a Gold one this time..

Well, least I think it's Gold in Color anyway, lol! But uh, as far as this one goes, uh, I think it's all Original, but can't really tell, although, the Cord doesn't look right to me at all for some reason, so I dunno? Actually, the whole Vacuum looks kinda strange as well, but then again, it's prolly just me, lol!

The problem with this one though, is unless I can work out some kind of Deal with the Seller to Buy this Machine now, of which I am in the process of doing, I will have to Bid on it, which I really don't want to do you know, I HATE Bidding. :( That and the Seller not only has 0 Feedback, but doesn't say much or anything at all about the Vacuum and keeps referring to Fred Flintstone for some reason, so I dunno, I kinda think this Guy is on Drugs or something and don't really Trust him at all, but I do really like this Convertible, it's different, so what do you Guys all think about this one as well...? ;) Also, ALL his Photos are to the side, which is really DUMB, especially since this is 2008 and all you know. :/ I mean, I'm not trying to Insult the Guy, but really, come one...

OK, well, I'm gonna go for now, but get back to me Guys ASAP, as I plan to Buy one of these two Convertible's today, THANKS A LOT!!!!!!!! :D

I think according to what I read here, you should buy the first machine, and stay completely away from the second one. Seller sounds like he's making a very obscure reference (Fred Flintstone) to a joke known only to himself, and probably doen't want to tell anyone anything at all, just wants to sell.

Yup...

Yeah Alan, I agree, I mean, something is telling me in my Mind, as little as it is, lol, to just stay away from the Gold Convertible and go with the 1020, as like you said, something just doesn't seem to be right with the Seller, not to mention, as before with the U4047, I will have to make some sort of Deal with him to get it you know, which I really don't want to have to do again, not after what just happened. :(

That Gold looking one is pretty SHARP though, but Alan, do you see it, doesn't it look kinda WEIRD or something to you to? :/

Besides, I think you'll agree that everyone here will most likely tell me to Buy the 1020, right, as EVERYONE here seems to have one, lol, so I can't go wrong I guess and if the Plug really looks kinda BAD, I can always have the Cord Replaced or something, right...? ;)

Anyway, I can just Buy the 1020 now, with no problems at all, so after I get a Reply to my Message I sent to him early this Morning, I think I'll just go and Buy it, before someone else does, lol!

Later!

With the gold vacuum, to me, the bag looks too small. It is probably the correct one though. I have a much later model Convertible in blue and white, with a strange tiny outer bag. I've seen that same model here, and it had the tiny one too. The 1020 sounds like a great deal, I hope you can negotiate with the seller. And either learn to ignore the cord, or take one off of a total wreck and wire it in. Good luck! Also, there is a clever way to put an original plug on, but someone else will have to tell you.

OK...

Well, I just got a Reply from the Seller of the 1020, nice Guy BTW and he told me, that other then the Plug on the Cord being Replaced, the Vacuum is ALL ORIGINAL, so I think I'm just going to go a head and Buy it now then!!!!!!!! :D Although, he did say that the "NEW" Plug is very noticeable, one of those old Round Bakelite Plugs, so he said, yeah, unfortunately, even someone that doesn't know Vacuums would notice it and that really bothers me, but maybe, just maybe one of you WONDERFUL Guys here could Replace the Cord for me with an Original one or something...? ;) I dunno, I mean, what do you Guys think about this whole Cord/Plug thing????

Post# 47585 , Reply# 7   7/31/2008 at 08:32 (5,719 days old) by moparhemipower ()
Oh...

WOW, OK, I just read what you said about the Cord of the 1020 Alan and if it can be Fixed or Replaced, then I guess I'll just have to Buy the Vacuum and live with it for a while, besides, as I said above, I don't have to work out any kind of Deal for the 1020, cuz the Guy Selling it is not only a Member of this Site, but has a Reasonable Buy It Now Price already set, so... ;)

I'm glad that guy is working with you, and at least the vacuum doesn't have a glaring cosmetic blemish like a chunk out or a crack, or missing pieces either.

I would totally go with the 1020 I have one that was NOS and couldnt believe the power it had it also left a great groomers path after I vacuumed with it.

I too was looking at that 1020 grandma has one that is still all original she bought it in 1969 or 1970 it is an awesome vacuum and I also like the green. You could also buy a replacement Hoover cord but they come in white and the 1020 has a green cord that matches the bag trim and hood. I think a new cord would stick out more than a plug in my opinion.
That seller also has a nice light blue Penncrest upright that you might like if you want to buy another convertible too.

WOO HOO!!!!!!!! :D

Well Alan, Mike, Sam and John, THANKS for all your help Guys and guess what...? ;)

I BOUGHT THE 1020, WOO!!!!!!!! :D Yup, I even just Paid for it now with Paypal, my Total, with Shipping and Insurance was $55.20, which if you ask me, is a Fair Price I do believe... ;)

Also, even though you all think I should stay away from the Gold one, well, here's the thing, when I first saw it, I sorta put a HIGH Bid on it, you know, just in case the Seller didn't want to work out a Deal with me or something, so I dunno, I think I just kinda Panicked when I saw it, after what all happened before, so as of now, unless someone Outbid's me, I might be getting that one to, but I'm not 100% sure of that right now you know...? :/

Yeah, I dunno what's gonna happen with the Gold Convertible, I mean, if I Win it, that won't be the worst thing in the World you know, as long as the Vacuum looks as good in person as it does in the one Picture on the Auction Page, but I dunno...?

Oh and BTW Guys, sorry for not getting Online till now, but I am having a Guy from Comcast come to my House on Monday, to do some Upgrades and all, so I have been working on getting my House Cleaned up, plus am trying to find a place to hide my Vacuum's, so he doesn't make any Comments I won't like about them you know... Also, so the Comcast Guy doesn't Damage my TV or anything, I have to get my old Comcast Digital Cable Box out of my Entertainment Center, so when he arrives, my NEW HD DVR Box can just be installed, with no problems or issues you know, as those Cable Guys just don't care who's Property they Damage. :(

Later!

Oh, sorry, Hey Rick!!!!!!!! :D

Sorry, just saw your Message here now, anyway, I'm not surprised my email doesn't work Rick, as it is Typed up wrong on this Site, lol! Yeah, I'm not sure why, but my email is MOPAR-JIM@comcast.net

See the difference...? ;)

Anyway, I'll send you a fast email, then I gotta go and Shave, plus get Cleaned up, but I'll be back Online later with more Post and all, so take your time in getting back to me, I'll be here... ;)

Later!

Congratulations, James! I hope the gold Convertible goes your way without any extra hassle too. I keep getting calls from Direct Dish, but am in no position to go there, or do I need 200 channels of which I will watch only 10 or less. I have Comcast, and am thinking of getting it for my computer and phone.

Well Alan...

Sadly and I don't know how, but I was Outbid on the Gold Convertible, so it's looking like I won't be getting that one either. :( Maybe it's for the best, as the Seller sent me a Message saying that he got the Vacuum from his Neighbor, who Replaced some Parts on it, like the Cord and all, so I dunno, maybe that's why it looked WEIRD to me and prolly would have Disappointed me anyway, so...

BTW... Ira Re-listed the U4047 Convertible I wanted from the other Post and guess what, he only wants $49.99 for it now, BUT, here's the thing, HE BLOCKED ME FROM BUYING IT!!!!!!!! Yes, that's right, he Blocked me, so what do I do now, how do I Buy it from him now, when he Blocked my ebay Name and all you know????????

HELP, I WANT THAT CONVERTIBLE!!!!!!!!

Ira and his psychosis should be reported to eBay. You don't want to deal with him. Another U4047 will come along. I wish I could say something encouraging. He'll get his, I bet he'll slip up and pull a real number on somebody and lose a lot of points.

Post# 47803 , Reply# 18   8/2/2008 at 21:12 (5,716 days old) by moparhemipower ()
I'm sure you're right Alan...

But I dunno, I mean, it's not every Day a Convertible like that Appears on ebay you know. :(

It's true, I want NOTHING to do with Ira, but still, if someone here could Buy it for me, well, that would solve that problem I'm sure, which is why I just Posted about it you know...

I hope somebody can come through, and if that doesn't work, lodge a strong complaint.

Post# 47812 , Reply# 20   8/2/2008 at 23:36 (5,716 days old) by xraytech ()

if I were you I would steer clear of Ira and his convertible, even having someone else buy ot for you. I do feel that it is very highly likley that he will pull something and cause them or you to loose money and him to get to re sell his Convertible. And believe me from experience Paypal dosen't do much for you to get your money back when you open a dispute. I would wait another will come along or you will find another model you will like instead and from someone who is not a crook.
Sorry for being so harsh and to the point about this but in the long run it will be better for everybody.

Thanks Sam...

Yeah, I know you are right Friend, but you know, there was just something about that Convertible Ira has, so I dunno...? :/

In fact, not only have I been getting email's from Rick talking to me about it and all, but John and Mike even Called to talk to me last Night as well, lol, both at the same time to I might add, so I had John in my right Ear, talking to me on my Home Phone and Mike in my left, talking on my Cell, lol, never did that before, lol!

THANKS John and Mike, that was FUN and hope to talk to you both again soon... ;)

Although, my Post with my Phone #'s and all was Deleted, so I HOPE you both still have em, lol!

Anyway, I did ALMOST Buy Ira's Hoover myself this Morning, even made up another ebay Account, plus Paypal to do so, but unfortunately, when it came time for me to Pay for the Vacuum, Paypal wouldn't let me, so I wasn't able to Buy it myself, Ira told me off, then Re-listed the Vacuum again. :(

GEEZALOO Guys, I just can't seem to Win here you know. :(

A. He's eavesdropping in this room,
B. He's having a ball playing ,
C. He feels he has the "prize of all prizes"
I'd be VERY CAREFUL what tactics you divulge in here.

Oh well...

Hey Guys, you know what, it's not all BAD, I mean, think about it, I got an almost MINT 1020 out of all this, plus made a few new Friends from all my Post as well... ;) Yeah, I must say though, that the new Friends I'm making here is the BEST thing of all, as lately, I've been real Lonely you know and only really been talking to Girls on Virtual Chat Rooms like Zwinky and IMVU, plus hanging out on Dating Sites as well, so I must say, I feel A LOT better now and all!!!!!!!! :D

Maybe, just maybe one of my new Friends would be willing to pick me up with my Vacuums and take me to the Convention coming up you know...? ;) I kinda doubt that will happen, but you never know right...? ;)

Anyway, unless I find another way to Buy Ira's Hoover, I think it's a lost cause, so do me a favor Friends, look out for other Convertible's like his on ebay you Guys think I might like or something and let me know, as I really want to get at least one more you know... It doesn't have to just be ebay, I mean, if you know anyone Selling a Decent Convertible, that works to... ;)

Later all!

That's very true John...

But, if it wasn't for Paypal not letting me add my Credit Card to my new Account, I would have been able to Buy the Vacuum from Ira and been done with it you know, Damn Paypal. :(

Ira even sent me a Message after I Bought it, to ask me if I was gonna Pay right away, but of course, thanks to Paypal, that never happened and I got nowhere in all this. :(

BTW John, I found more of your Photos here and again, YOU HAVE THE BEST HOUSE EVER, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! :D I even found a Photo or two of you with your Kitty's... ;)

I guess I need to start getting some Photos up huh, lol!
