So my new living room carpet does not seem to care for newer vacuums, works fine with the dirty fan type. I got to thinking a long time friend of mine had mothers upright and I asked if he was still using it it's been five or six years, he said it's upstairs and I've never turned it on so I went and got it back! A little dusty but even the belt was still fine. A nice wipe down in detail and a new HEPA bag we're good to go and it works great on the living room rug.❤️2/97.

Looks good! Some may trash the Elites. I think they are good cleaners. I especially like the style pictured with the side mount hose. I have two models of these a 6.5 amp and a 5.5 amp with the correct hose. I used the one pictured to clean a family members home today and it worked excellent! I’m happy you have yours back.

Considering how old the early Elites are they hold up fairly well. I know elites were el cheapo vacs to begin with. Just goes to show if you take care of things they will last.

In another Dimension....

Nice! The elites were pretty good cleaners with flow in the lower 90s at the cleaner head they beat out the majority of modern machines. The quick use tools are a nice touch on the dimension.

Is your new carpet soft carpet?

Cool to hear! Pretty soft Turkish rug, very tight weave back.

We collectors must be cautious of the carpeting we buy these days. It seems like quite a few of them don't breathe and make using various vacuums difficult. It'd be irritating to have a chunk of one's collection rendered unusable or at the very least difficult to use.

Well at least you've found something that works for you and i'm sure there's more as well.

The tools up top and what I call the glove box is very handy, I have real trouble bending and reaching at this point. The easy grab hose for quick use and the long soft cord which lays flat also big pluses it's just easy to use for me.
