Not something you see often, and the only one I’ve seen in person. I’ve seen many of the newer ones and how they work, but these old chrome monsters I just don’t see. But I got lucky and found one out in Utah during a recent trip to Las Vegas for the VDTA.

Its an absolute monster of a machine, and the thing I just can’t get over is that you slam the thing into reverse at full speed high speed! Not only was that a very smooth smoothie, but it damn near got launched to the moon as the blender jumped sideways when I reversed the damn thing!

I had no idea those were rare. I saw one just like that at a relatively local flea market a few months ago for like $20. Looks like I should've grabbed it

I don’t know that it’s extremely rare or anything, just uncommon. Usually you see some of the newer models going around cheap, but I’ve only managed to find just a container at a thrift store for one of these, and Id have bought it ‘just to have when I find one’ but it was in poor shape with a busted handle. The idea of the spout turned me off at the time, but now that I have this one and have used it, I actually find it to be both kinda cool and useful.

I love mine. It's so cool seeing the ice cream (you make it in 2 minutes) come out the spout into an ice cream cup. The machine is also quite tall with the Action Dome in place.

The huge powerful motor, going full tilt in one direction, can be instantly switched to the opposite direction, again at full speed, by flipping the switch. Awe inspiring how they did that.

Such monsters for a blender! I thought I remembered it being a 4000 you got!

The VM machine shown in the pictures is just like the 4000 I bought new. When these blenders were sold you could get containers without the spout. Was actually better-if the spout was uncleaned your drink could be nasty.Right now my 4000 is in the back of the cupboard-should drag it out and use it.To properly blend with these blenders-you need to do the forward reverse cycles several times.Ingredients can get stuck in the jar corners. The F-R cycles dislodges them so they get blended.
