A very nice lady has been in contact with us regarding a Hoover 61 that she wants to find a home for. She works in Canton, OH and is willing to deliver. Here is her message -

Good morning !

I've been in email contact with Terry Lattz, and he suggested that I post a notice in this section of the website to try to find a new home for an old Hoover. I have a Hoover Model 61 with some attachments. Mom always said that she bought it when I was a baby, so that means it was new in 1947. (Both the Hoover and I are showing the
years...) In its day, it has swept acres of carpet, and I could never bring myself to pitch it, so it's still sitting around even though I'm not using it any longer. Perhaps it would be of some use to a vacuum collector.

The Hoover's bag has a couple holes from wear, and I think some other parts may have been replaced over the years; not sure about the latter. I'd rate its condition as fair / good, but I'm not a vacuum collector. I also have a couple packs of paper bags and a pack of Hoover belts for it. The attachments consist of the hose with metal thingy that slides into the vac, two sections of metal handle, and three brushes.

Terry asked me about price, and as I told him, this is more about finding a home for the ol' sweeper than it is about money. If a collector would cover shipping costs if I have to ship it, or throw in a couple dollars for gas if I deliver it a great distance, that would probably be fine. The cost factor is very negotiable. I work in Canton, OH, and could easily make connections with a collector at your organization's August convention.

Feel free to condense / edit this info as you see fit to make up the posting. Let me know if you have questions. Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of the Hoover. The easiest way to contact me is
probably by email.... dar7@sssnet.com
