Senior day at thrift store, normally take home a few books, but today I perused the housewares area due to foot traffic. There was a $300 Cuisinart self contained ice cream maker for $16 with discount! Quick clean and gave it a run, strawberry ice cream in one hour! It works fine. Sometimes we get lucky.

It's nice, I've never had one with a built in compressor! Just plug it in ,set the timer.

I remember my mom got my grandma's old ice cream machine. The strawberry ice cream was so delicious.
I asked about 10 years ago where the machine was. I come to find out that the machine had no automatic shut off. I guess she left it on and went outside leaving it on any better ice cream
for 15 minutes. She came in and the motor burned up because the ice cream got so cold that the machine couldn't churn.
I do love strawberry and peach old fashion ice cream.
Congratulations on finding the machine. You can't buy

Peach! Good idea Les, my town was known as the peach bowl of the world years ago.

When we were little,

my father planted peach stones in the backyard. WE had peaches galore! We'd give them to all of the neighbors, along with tomatoes, etc.

I also have an electric Hamilton Beach ice cream maker. It's the cedar drum, etc.
That makes nice ice cream, too.
Sometimes, when I have dinner guests, I'll make mocha crepes, made on the Hoover crepe maker, drizzle chocolate syrup and add coffee ice cream, and 'wrap them up'.
yum!
