I went on vacation for a week and saw many nice vacs:

When I was walking down the hall in the hotel I noticed the maid's cart was parked in front of my door which was open. Then I heard a switch click on and heard a familiar VRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. My heart started to beat faster and I thought "ELITE!". I walked into my room and saw a Hoover C1415, the commercial Elite with a dust cup. I was very tempted to just tell her " It's ok. I'll vacuum the room.", but instead I just watched. Ever since then I started seeing them all over the hotel.

I also saw some very nice widepath Windsor Versamatics at work in the airport.

Also, when I arrived at my grandfather's house, I used his Royal Everlast MRY8300. It was in beautiful condition except it had a bad belt, which I replaced.

Any comments?

Hooverelite20 I thought about you as I was up in old forge NY last week on vacation with my family and we had a great time. but even when I am on vacation I cannot seem to stay away from vacuuming. the motel we were at had hoover elites that we cleaned with and at the laundromat we went to I got to service an oreck 4000. it sounded wonderful. nice and smooth bearings. but anyway every store I went in I saw the machine that they used. let me tell you too many bissells I saw for sale and I told one of the store owners that I wouldnt pay 5 dollars for one because they were crap. so I pointed a few people in the direction of buying either a Hoover concept or an elite. but anyway it was a great trip
I still couldnt believe how many vacs I saw in one store. there had to be about 10 in use. it was in the old forge hardware store I think u can see a pic of the store if you looked it up.

Well,

I am a REALLY big freak for Elites, and usually cannot resist them.

I was EXTREMELY impressed with the Royal. Very powerful and a good beating action along with some high quality bristles. My grandfather has 7 dogs and 3 cats that he keeps in the house and he does not like to vacuum. I put a fresh bag in the royal and vacuumed their medium sized living room for a normal amount of time and picked up about 2-3 POUNDS OF DIRT! I could not believe it. But I sorta did, with the 7 dogs and 3 cats.

Also, about Bissells, they are extremely cheap. I used one next door(a powerforce)and thought "who would buy one of these?". Not even worth a dollar. When you have a choice between a Royal and a bissell, always go for the Royal.
