I've never seen a stove with a deep-fryer accessory like this. I like it!

I could be wrong Charles, but I think it's just a countertop fryer set on top of a cooktop. I'm on my phone though I could be wrong.

Just a deep fryer sitting on the stove bud.

I mean, technically, couldn't you just heat up a big pot of oil?

Certainly, but the units with a fitting basket and thermostat control do make it easier, probably less oil

Electric deep fryers are for small amounts of food, or a quick lunch or dinner. No sense in heating a massive pot of hot oil just for a handful of fries. They are very handy. I have an old Fry Daddy myself but it is seldom used.
