What a nice Olympia for the money. One of Electrolux’s best machines. I only hope to find one one day like that inexpensive at a thrift store. Jon |

That is indeed a nice Olympia One. If it were mine, I wouldn't worry one bit about it having an older power nozzle; of course, the PN2 is a favorite of mine. The PN4 and PN4A are nice nozzles too but I'm not particularly fond of the painted variants because scratches show up so badly, especially on the brown ones. I really like the polished aluminum of the PN2's and early PN4's.
Enjoy your new acquisition! |

It was customary for the salesman to visit homes to see if the owners needed anything. Most of the time bags were needed. If they complained about a loss of suction maybe a hose. I had quite a few clients that did not need a new power nozzle but the old vacuum needed replacing. So that said sometimes the power nozzle was shot so I would just sell a power nozzle. Maybe the original owners already had a hardly used power nozzle and just bought the vacuum

Could have been a vac shop rebuild. Those machines are so old now, they are likely to have been traded in at one point in their lives, rebuilt, and sold by a vac shop.
This is how it is supposed to look with all original pieces.

Dysonman is correct. My family's one was sold rebuilt and it had the chrome power nozzle (dont know the number offhand), a random grab bag of OEM used electrolux attachments that went to a myriad of other models, and an ugly vinyl hose. The vacuum was pretty much all original otherwise from what I can tell today, so it wasn't all a bad deal. No idea how much it cost though. But it lasted several years anyway after the rebuild after already existing for....40 years at that time? Last I seen it last year in the garage, somehow the bag door latch busted off, so that will be addressed eventually.
