Just wondering does anyone have any tips on how to keep vinyl hoses supple and prevent cracking?
I know I've read in manuals that it is a good idea to remove the hose from wands/cleaner and store loosely coiled. Keeping the hose stored upright (such as on the wands/power nozzle in upright position) or with sharp bends puts stress on the hose which causes cracking. Also obviously storing the hose in a climate controlled area away from extreme temperatures would help also. Is there anything anyone puts on their hoses to keep from drying out or to rejuvenate them? |

Maybe a wipe down every 6 months to a year with a lightweight tire shine cleaner/ UV protector?
I've seen a lot of vacuum shops use wall mount garden hose hangers to store their hoses in a nice wide loop, not coiled, just draped over it. I have a 1980's Hoover hose that for some reason has started to get a little bit sticky. I just got it so it's been from someone else's house, not from mine. |
