There’s also supposed to be a spring attached to the front axle. It keeps the axle up against the height mechanism and that’s what holds the adjustment in place. If the spring is missing then the height adjustment will slip. |

Oops, I missed the spring comment, thanks luxlife. Does anyone know how the hood is held on? I see some models have springs and others have two screws. |

Ok thanks everyone. As luxlife suggested the axle spring is missing. It took me a while to realize the spring goes on the bottom and doesn't need the hood removed for access. |
