12 years ago, I got my Black Knight BK2000 from Air-Tec. What an amazing vacuum cleaner. Made of metal and using HEPA Air-Way bags, this thing is a cleaning beast. With its ten foot hose and Wessel Werks power nozzle, along with its all metal attachment set - it's unbeatable.

The "Attacha Carrier" can be mounted onto the back of the machine, so your wonderful Air-Way attachments can always be with you if you wish. You can also hand the carrier on a door knob.

Optionally, you can attach the "Sanitizor" attachment, which filters the exhaust air through an electrostatic filter to remove carbon dust from the motor, and it has a 'fragrance dispenser' as well. Mulberry is my favorite scent.

"The BEST vacuum cleaner" title would go to a MD central vacuum with a EBK360 in my opinion.

You know it's s shame that those hepa bags are no longer available. I just picked up a vita vac. I know you've got some method using a simplicity/riccar F bag. I am curious though what motor is in those?

Very much reminds me of a Metrovac, luckily those are still available to get as of today. I really do love the color, green is my all time favorite color on a vacuum.

@compuvac, you should check out the new 7525 central vacuum by Cyclovac. It is more powerful than any MD power unit as of today. And if you combine it with either the Volt or the Hide-A-Hose CX1000 powerhead, that would be a really hard vacuum to beat!

cyclovac

That cyclovac unit sounds absolutely awesome, I wonder if it's 240 volt? The power on that would be awesome, the problem is, they don't sell their units on line and cyclovac dealers are very few and far between.

Hi Mike,

Yes the Cyclovac is 240 volts but it's a split unit design. Another powerful unit that uses 120 volts is the Aqua-Air 258 AA004 but that one is also a split unit design and you have to use water for the system since it's a wet/dry vac design.

It is possible that you could contact Cyclovac if they could ship out a unit for you, or at least call up some dealers online if they would be willing to ship one out to you.

split system

I'm not sure how those connect, I'm guessing it just uses a small piece of central vacuum pipe to connect the two parts? I may contact Cyclovac and see about that unit, I have a couple different ways to power it.

The Black Knight has a 12 amp high efficiency Lamb motor. It uses Air-Way's air evacuator assembly (the 'cage' for the bag) and a HEPA disposable bag. I love the Wessel Werks Power Nozzle, just glides over the rugs. It's fun to see the florescent light bulb come on after about 20 seconds of running. The hose is 10 feet long and I love dusting with it and the "V" dusting brush. It's an amazing, quiet, powerful machine.

black knight

Unfortunately I don't think these are made anymore, are they? Sounds like a canister I would love to have.

I'll demonstrate the Black Knight to you at the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Convention in September. Lots of people are coming this year, they are so happy to be out of the house.

I'm glad you're bringing a few central vacs for us. Last year, one of yours that we connected to my central vac piping in my house, pulled our friend Russ down my hallway because he was holding onto the Hide A Hose hose when Even released the lock. Now that was a powerful machine.

See you in September.

convention

Absolutely! I'm hoping to bring 5 units this time, including the Drainvac twin turbo, that's the machine that literally swept Russ off his feet. Hopefully the other central vacuum guys are coming too since we will need their help to hook the units to your pipes. It should be a great convention.

Evan just put in the new chameleon hose management system and took out the old hide a hose. The new one retracts twice as fast. Can’t wait to show it to you and use it with your most powerful central unit. The convention is going to be a blast this year. Of course, it always is. Can’t wait to see you in September.

difference between chameleon and hide-a-hose

What are the differences between the two systems? I saw a video on the chameleon and apparently you can use it as a regular central vacuum hose as well. I cant wait to see that Drainvac unit pull in that hose either if it's that fast. I know exactly which units I want to bring, it will be a blast trying them out.
