A while ago I had bought two packs of Hoover Type H bags on eBay. They were in genuine Hoover packages, but the newer black packaging, with a date of 2012, but they were green paper, so I assumed they were true Hoover.

Well, the first time I tried them in my Celebrity cleaner, I was rather disappointed. The cardboard bag collar did not fit very well on the mount. It was very tight to get on, which I thought might be a good thing (better seal).

After just one short use the freshly cleaned bag compartment was coated in fine dust.

Having a look on eBay it looks like what I bought were actually aftermarket bags, as looking at Envirocare bags, the printing is the same, except the Envirocare bags are white, where mine were green.

Genuine Hoover H bags also have a thicker plastic mount.

So I just wanted to warn that if you are looking for genuine green paper Hoover bags, best to stick with the older blue and white packaging or earlier styles. What comes in the black post-TTI packaging may look like the real thing, but it may well be aftermarket just packaged as genuine.

You hit the nail on the head. They are cheap, one ply paper bags from an after market manufacturer, put into 'genuine' Hoover packages because Hoover doesn't make their own bags any longer.
