I have the rainbowmate RM-12, the one with the LED lights, for my SRX and I notice when using it on my sofa and recliner the tool slows down and stops spinning. Granted I'm not putting any heavy pressure on it and moving it lightly, so does it sound like something might be an issue with my tool or is it normal for this accessory? It cleans good I will say that, but the slowing down on certain surfaces is a drag.

I have the same RM-12 RainbowMate, and have never experienced it doing that. That doesn't sound like normal behavior. In my experience, the RainbowMate accessories are sufficiently powered, and rattle less than any of the Lux SideKick or StairPro accessories I've used on other machines. (And I've used a lot of them!)
I'd recommend disassembly to see if you have a tangle on the end of the brushroll or some other obstruction, or contacting your distributor. I am not sure what the warranty period is on Rainbow accessories.
Good luck!

When i bought mine it would do the same thing. Id have to spin the brushroll with my fingers to get it started again. Called my distributor and sent mine back and he sent me out another one. Never did find out what the issue was.

I have a rainbow mate from 2006 that came with my Rainbow, and though I don't use it a lot, it's always fully powered with no bogging down issues, no rattles, etc. Ya, those Lux ones rattle big time. I have one of those too it's crazy noisy but I didn't get my Epic 6500 new, so I thought that, even though it works, something could be wrong with it since I got the vacuum used years ago on Ebay.

Rexair made a change from a geared belt to a flat rubber belt (so people would have to contact their Rainbow office to buy a new one). I change mine on my E2 Black once a year because it's stretched sufficiently that the tool slows down on certain fabrics.

Does anyone know when rexair will have a confrence to announce any celebration?
