It is a bit...umm..morbid...lol but people handle things in different ways, just takes a strong stomach. lol
But it is at least a good story to tell - and a story that will carry on with the vacuum. Like buying a vintage car, vintage vacuums can have stories too just as interesting and fascinating. I am building a utility sink to roll around outdoors and in the garage that I will be using to wash vacuum parts and stuff in, so that will help keep all the nastyness out of my house, and also not clog up my plumbing with debris. I bought a Dyson DC08(?) that was used as a shop vac for a RV and camping trailer awning manufacturer in Wisconsin, and it reeks of raw plastics and adhesive odor, and its really dusty with vinyl or plasticizer, but it came with a log sheet that shows it was regularly serviced and maintained on a frequent basis up until a year before I bought it. I guess because parts availability dried up. All it needed was filters and a belt, but when you have a company to clean promptly you can't wait on Amazon or eBay orders and shipping times. |
