Also, can I use F type bags with it (w/o conversion)?

As far as I know, yes you can. I use the G4/G5 brown Micron Magic disposable bags in my 1984 Heritage 84 and Heritage II.

The Legend II used the Style 3 bag any of the later "twist" compatible bags will work with that. I think of all the style F bags are universal being compatible with both the F adaptor as well as the twist style.
